onerepublic 是美国的一个流行摇滚乐队，成立于科罗拉多州。作曲/制作人ryan tedder 和他的高中朋友zach filkins 在科罗拉多州斯布林市创建了乐队。然后乐队搬迁到洛杉矶。在columbia records短暂的工作之后，他们和interscope records/mosley music group 签约了，并且完成了和乐队同名的首张专辑<dreaming out loud>。这张专辑在2007年末发行。乐队的核心ryan tedder同样也是创作pop, rock,rnb的作曲/制作人。从一支标准的地下乐队到后来有机会与timbaland这样大师级的人物合作甚至被点名看好， 不得不说是一种幸运，而他们的myspace也从去年开始始终保持着超高的点击率，这也彻底改变了乐队的环境，星路变的平坦，成 为了billboard的热门选择。
他们的歌曲apologize的混音版本被收入timbaland2007年发行的专辑timbalandpresents: shock value中。这首歌曲的原始版本作为专辑的单曲发行。８月末，在洛杉矶本地电台kiis-fm的节目中，这首歌受到了大量的点 播。
这首歌给人的感觉变是一听钟情的,节奏 声线 都恰倒好处,淡淡的忧伤,但是节奏超赞，是一首绝对的佳作！！虽然是不能再aologize的情况，却不是那么撕心裂肺的夸大悲 伤，却有种淡定的看开了的感觉，所以有些空灵的感觉……有些放下了，却有点放不下的感觉……有些空灵但又不是很过，还是很真实的 ，仅仅是偶尔悄悄离开地面一点点的低空飘过的感觉……尤其是那一句拒绝的话：“i said it's too late to apologize……”，总感觉没有彻底拒绝，尽管有些受够了身心俱伤，却仍然有回旋余地的感觉，总之就是还有的放不下的感觉 ……用自己的语言太难描述...还是用心去感受....
但，也许仅止于此了，像一首首相似的悲伤情歌一样的类似，是timbaland这个黑人大叔，让这首歌有了些不一样的感觉。
他看似加入了点和主歌不太协调的hip-hop风，却淡淡的，不着痕迹，不是很过分的凸显它，却让歌曲更有节奏感韵律感，还很有 新鲜感。两种不太相溶的东西的调和，像放慢放缓10倍更优美的hip-hop，也像舞曲混音过的抒情摇滚。顺便，也颇有商业效果 。这么一点点的hip-hop元素的加入，能让这首歌更为酷爱hip-hop的美国人喜爱～荣登榜首很久～
